From New York to Tulum, from Berlin to Queenstown: the World’s 50 Best Restaurants celebrate culinary diversity on six continents. Places 51 to 100 are a compass for gourmets and an indicator of future gastronomic trends.

World's 50 Best Restaurants

The main countdown of the World's 50 Best Restaurants will be celebrated in Turin on June 19, 2025. But the publication of the 51st to 100th places is already causing an international stir in the industry. The extended list is far more than just an appetizer - it is a panorama of global culinary art, curated by 1,120 culinary experts worldwide. Included: twelve newcomers, including culinary beacons in Mexico, New Zealand, San Francisco and Shanghai.

Insight into the list: The world map of innovative cuisine

The 2025 list covers 25 countries and 37 cities, spread across six continents. Particularly striking: the international breadth of the selection, which not only honors well-known greats, but also puts newcomers with a strong signature in the spotlight.

Europe remains strong - Germany with four placings

Europe is once again strongly represented with 20 restaurants. Germany is included in the extended ranking with four addresses - including three Berlin hotspots: Tim Raue (58th place), Nobelhart & Schmutzig (59th) and the dessert-telling Coda (79th). Tantris in Munich made it to 73rd place.

Other notable placings: Jordnær (56) in Copenhagen returns, the creative Cocina Hermanos Torres in Barcelona makes it to 78th place and Al Gatto Verde from Modena lands in 92nd place.

Asia with a powerful appearance

New entries such as Chef Tam's Seasons (72, Macau) and Meet the Bund (94, Shanghai) show the dynamic development of Asian cuisine. Den (53) and Sazenka (71) from Tokyo and Onjium (57) from Seoul set further strong markers.

Latin America: Emotion, depth and new peaks

Mexico shines with Arca (67, Tulum) as the highest newcomer and Pujol (60, Mexico City). Colombia is represented twice with El Chato (54) and Leo (76). A highlight: the comeback of Evvai (95) from São Paulo.

Taking part for the first time: New Zealand

New Zealand is celebrating its debut with Amisfield Restaurant (99) in Queenstown - proof of how regional cuisine can also make a name for itself internationally.

Africa & Oceania: Fine wines from Cape Town and Sydney

South Africa scores with three placings from Cape Town, including La Colombe (55) and Fyn (82). Australia is represented by Saint Peter (66, Sydney).

What makes the list so relevant

The mix of established names and new culinary voices makes the 51st to 100th places a true barometer for global food trends. Curated by a global vote of the World's 50 Best Restaurants Academy, the list guarantees diversity, quality and sustainability - and is therefore a guide for restaurateurs, media and travelers alike. With Deloitte as an independent auditing company, the voting process is also secure, transparent and free from sponsor influence.

Looking ahead: the main countdown in Turin

On June 19, 2025, the top 50 restaurants in the world will be chosen at a grand gala in Turin at the Lingotto Fiere. Those who make it into the top 50 will be live-streamed on the official YouTube channel and on 50 Best's social media channels - a must-attend event for the global gastronomy scene.

Conclusion: This list is more than a ranking - it's a statement

The 51st to 100th places on the World's 50 Best Restaurants are a multi-layered reflection of the global culinary scene. They celebrate courage, craftsmanship and cultural depth - and offer inspiration for the gastronomy of the future. Those listed in this segment have long been among the world's elite.

Experiential dining redefined

Why formats such as PALAZZO “Better Together” are among the most sought-after culinary and gift experiences

Today, experiential dining is one of the strongest drivers of modern hospitality – emotional, sensual, and unforgettable. Formats such as Toni Mörwald’s PALAZZO in Vienna show how perfectly cuisine, culture, and staging can merge and why spending time together has become the most valuable luxury. “Better Together” exemplifies a trend that is shaping the industry and booming as a gift idea, especially at Christmas: enjoyment, entertainment, and shared amazement in an evening full of magic.

The year in which communication remained human

Review of 2025

In terms of communication, 2025 was a year between “wow” and “ouch.” Between artificial intelligence, genuine empathy, and a whole lot of misunderstandings. Talking has never been so easy – and understanding so difficult. In this humorous review, communications expert Stefan Häseli takes a closer look: How did people communicate, which trends are casting their shadows ahead, what has developed in which direction…

Book tip: Efficiently lazy

Do less, achieve more – this book provides the mental clarity and structure to do so

“Effizient faul” by Uwe Seebacher is aimed at anyone who is under constant pressure – whether in the hospitality industry, in everyday agency life, or in management. Instead of classic self-optimization, Seebacher focuses on strategies that enable real efficiency.

The content is based on over 30 years of research and consulting practice – including for international companies and institutions. Particularly relevant are the concrete tools for decision optimization and energy distribution.
