Fine dining, steak, sushi, Mexican cuisine, and Italian dolce vita – Las Vegas has long been more than just buffets and shows. We sampled some of the city’s most exciting restaurants – from complex Chinese flavors and traditional American steakhouses to Japanese presentation and Mexican sensuality.
Modern Chinese cuisine in Las Vegas: stylish, intimate, surprising. Located in the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, Chyna Club is not a classic Asian restaurant, but a stage for aromatics. Dimmed lighting, a sensual atmosphere, an inspiring setting. Here, the journey begins as soon as you enter the room. What particularly impressed us was the choice between a chef's menu or a sharing concept. The Peking duck is perfectly presented. The dishes are profound, multi-layered, and yet accessible. Just right for an evening when you want to immerse yourself in culinary delights. The desserts score points visually with a real wow factor.
Best steakhouse in Las Vegas? Delmonico definitely belongs on the shortlist. When it comes to steak in Las Vegas, there's no way around Delmonico, located right in the Venetian Las Vegas. The original in New York (founded in 1837) wrote American culinary history. In Las Vegas, celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse continues this tradition with New Orleans flair in a classically elegant steakhouse setting.
You absolutely must try the legendary rib-eye, the Delmonico steak. The sauces were a real highlight for us, finely seasoned with a unique depth. The quality of the meat speaks for itself here. It's no coincidence that culinary classics such as Eggs Benedict and Lobster Newberg are attributed to Delmonico.
Modern Japanese dining with pure experience factor: Kusa Nori is more than sushi. It is staging. Koi fish elements in the architecture and ceiling, intimate lighting, high-energy sushi bar, and teppanyaki grills—something is happening here. Some dishes are served with nitrogen and can therefore be admired in a cloud of mist before being enjoyed.
Our culinary highlights included the 48-hour marinated miso black cod, specialty rolls, robata grill dishes, and the wonderful selection of sake and cocktails. Incidentally, the robata dishes originate from the Japanese grilling culture “robatayaki” (fire pit roasting) and refer to food slowly grilled over hot charcoal. Not only a highlight in terms of taste, but also visually. Happy hour in the bar & lounge area is also attractively priced, which is rare in Las Vegas. Here you get quality, show and atmosphere without excessive prices.
Red sauce Italian – reimagined: Chef Chris Santos interprets Italian classics in a modern, bold, and shareable way. Just as Las Vegas should be: energetic, loud, surprising. Our highlights were the homemade pasta such as pomodoro cavatelli, extra crispy chicken parmigiana, and a steak cooked to perfection.
Fun fact (a must!): The toilet vestibule is a selfie spot with a mirror installation. Vegas at its best.
Modern Mexican cuisine with energy, DJ sounds, and mezcal power: even the entrance, with its wooden façade reminiscent of Tulum, signals that this is a place for the senses. Amaya impresses with fresh fish, shareable plates, and an impressive selection of tequila and mezcal. The cocktails? Highly recommended. The atmosphere? Urban, vibrant, Latin American. An evening here feels like a vacation within a vacation.
Authentic Italian cuisine at the Venetian, including a view of gondolas. Even the walk to the restaurant is an experience: you stroll past canals, see gondolas, and enjoy a pure Italian feeling. Culinary delights at Mercato include a fresh crudo station, open pasta kitchen, and high-quality seafood. Our personal highlight was, of course, the spaghetti cacio e pepe in a wheel of Parmesan cheese, which was prepared right in front of us. Italian authenticity meets entertainment – that's exactly what makes Las Vegas so exciting from a culinary perspective.
Las Vegas is not just about show business. It is a culinary world tour within a few kilometers of the Strip. From the complexity of Chinese flavors to American steakhouse tradition, Japanese precision, Mexican joie de vivre, and Italian theater. We have rarely experienced a city where you can traverse so many culinary worlds. And that's exactly why Las Vegas remains an exciting destination for us.
